The young girl gazed at her reflection in the mirror while the world around her faded into darkness. Suddenly, her reflection began to shift, revealing different versions of herself—each one telling a distinct story, embodying different characters, and expressing various truths - all her path. The mirror became a powerful source of possibility.
As she grew into adulthood, she forgot this gift. The vain child had known it instinctively. Within her lay all the power she needed to bring her fantasies to life. Vanity had once been her salvation, yet she neglected the most significant idol of all: herself.
Self-contemplation is never wasted. It reveals hidden messages. The young girl whispers truths, the teenager shares her struggles, and the messy early 20-something reveals her chaos. Wisdom is listening—and knowing when to disregard the collective’s narratives, which may have no place in your inner world.
Hiding from yourself can be as simple as avoiding the mirror. Until one day, you wake up completely disconnected from your body, wondering how you’ve been living outside your own fantasy.
Where am I? The realization hits like a cold awakening. You hate everything—the job, the clothes, the apartment. And beneath it all, an aching absence of anything human. Sincerity rotting inside her, festering in the form of self-imposed isolation.
Mirror Mirror on the wall.
ZONE. OUT.
Pause. Meditate upon the fleeting moment. Feel the warmth of the teacup against your palms. Allow the music to permeate your existence. Feel—don’t analyze. Just be.
The goal was quiet. Silence from our thoughts; too much noise, too much drama - the unsexy kind. - Too much chewing on life instead of simply tasting it.
Drift. Let time take the lead. Find yourself tucked into a fleeting, weightless moment, the kind that makes living feel like an art.
There are countless projected fantasies—the collective’s dominant dream, the one used to market everything to us. Some align with our deepest desires; others feel like an ill-fitting Prada slingback kitten heel—awkward, uncomfortable, and just a little off.
This is why creating an inner world is so important. Self-fantasy first; sip from the collective’s dream if it suits you. At our core, we’re just animals seeking connection. Don’t deny yourself that.
Zone out, watch the clouds go by, soak in a beautiful tub, and indulge in your favourite sins discreetly. - No one needs to know. It isn’t necessary to invite more drama or more eyes into your life.

Entertainment needs to feel nourishing, or else it will rot our insides. Boredom creates more problems than we can imagine. We all want to be entertained and often seek to fulfill this need by creating drama in our personal lives. I much prefer to leave the drama-making to the experts. The playwrights, the actors, the composers, the violinist, the ballerina, and the never-ending list of entertainers.
The Allure Of Sensual Indifference
Venus and Adonis by George Barbier
The feminine and masculine essence embodied by these idols reveals the duality of sensual indifference—detachment while remaining open to life's flow, flirting with existence without forcing an agenda. Keep only your deepest desires close to the heart.
Sensual in the appreciation of the beauty of life and indifferent to its chaos.
Observation:
Hum—create your own soundtrack. Humming as you soak in hot water, releasing the day’s tension, feels instinctive, almost primal. A quiet acknowledgment that you’re alive, that you, too, hold the power of creation.
Measuring life in moments of leisure and speaking to yourself in the language of art nourishes my soul. I can’t speak for everyone, but for me, this feels true. My default was never to hustle—it was to create, even in small, quiet doses, behind closed doors.
Engaging with the media I consume expands my awareness—letting a single episode linger for days. There is always wisdom to absorb, waiting to be processed.
Questions:
What does it mean to enjoy the essence of something truly? To allow the presence to enrich your very being? How do you pause, contemplate, and digest the world around you? How do you fulfill your deepest desires, needs, and wants?
I love the questions at the end! I love being able to respond ❤️
Loved every word of this!
